The Toronto Raptors return home after a quick two-game road trip to take on the Chicago Bulls. This will be the Raptors third In-Season Tournament game. They are 0-2 in the tournament and are all but eliminated from the knockout rounds.
The Raptors will be eliminated from In-Season Tournament contention with a loss, a win by the Orlando Magic, or wins by the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat.
However, this game still counts towards the Raptors regular season record. The Raptors come into this game after winning a wild one in Indiana. They beat the Pacers at their own game. It was an offensive shootout as the Raptors survived for the 132-131 win. Pascal Siakam had a game-high 36 points and Scottie Barnes had a clutch And-1 dunk late in the game which ended up being the game-winner.
The Raptors are 7-8 through 15 games and it’s been an up and down season so far. They are hoping to get on a bit of a run here. This is a very winnable game for Toronto as the Bulls have been struggling.
Chicago looks like they are headed for their own rebuild. They are 5-11, including 1-5 on the road. Zach LaVine has already been in many trade rumors as there’s speculation that the Bulls will trade him before the trade deadline.
Speaking of LaVine, his status for this game is questionable. He is dealing with a foot injury but he did practice at shootaround earlier today.
For the Raptors, both Precious Achiuwa and Thad Young are both questionable. Achiuwa missed the game against the Pacers and Young has been out the last 4 games now.
The last time these two teams met was back on Oct. 27. The Raptors gave up a 17-point lead with 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter as the Bulls ended regulation on a 22-5 run to send the game into overtime. The Bulls would go on to win.
