Toronto Raptors two-way guard Markquis Nowell has not been shy about his ambitious goals in the NBA.

The 5’8″ guard previously made comments about how he will be the best play to ever wear a Raptors jersey. It is clear that he has set high expectations for himself after signing in Toronto this summer.

Nowell took to Instagram again and this time he shared that he will win multiple NBA championships and Finals MVPs in his career:

Whether he will come through on these plans remains to be seen, but the self-confidence is something to admire.

Nowell has earned himself an opportunity by getting a two-way contract with the Raptors. Now it is up to him to make a good impression on the team and earn some minutes.

Time will tell if Nowell will be given a chance to perform on the Raptors roster for this upcoming season or in the near future.

Nowell will likely have to first prove his worth by leading the charge with Toronto’s G-League affiliate team, Raptors 905.

Markquis Nowell’s college career

Nowell had a five-year career in college. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it gave NCAA athletes another year of eligibility. He spent his last two seasons at Kansas State, playing 63 games with the Wildcats.

In his last season he averaged 17.6 points, 8.3 assists and 2.6 steals on 38.6% from the field and 35.5% from beyond the arc. He led Kansas State to the Elite Eight of the 2023 March Madness tournament.

Nowell did a little bit of everything in his two seasons with Kansas State. He now looks to translate his game to the pro level and have a successful NBA career.
