Brandon Ingram delivered a standout performance with a game-high 34 points as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Detroit Pistons 119-108 on Sunday night.
RJ Barrett added 27 points and six rebounds, helping Toronto secure its second consecutive victory and maintain sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Jakob Poeltl and Scottie Barnes each recorded double-doubles for the Raptors. Poeltl finished with 21 points and a season-high 18 rebounds, while Barnes contributed 14 points and 10 boards.
Detroit was led by Cade Cunningham, who posted 33 points and nine assists, but the Pistons saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Jalen Duren also recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Tobias Harris chipped in 21 points.
The Pistons were extremely efficient early, shooting 64.9% from the field in the first half. However, their offense cooled significantly in the third quarter, when they connected on just 26.9% of their attempts.
Toronto’s defense stepped up as the game progressed, helping offset a rough night from beyond the arc. A deep three-pointer by Ingram with 2:30 remaining in the third quarter pushed the Raptors’ lead to 12 points and highlighted a 9-2 scoring run that helped put the game out of reach.
