Anthony Edwards scored 22 points and delivered a highlight-reel dunk over RJ Barrett as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Toronto Raptors 115-107 on Thursday night, extending their winning streak to five games.
The standout moment came in the third quarter when Edwards used a crossover move to drive into the lane and rose above Barrett for a powerful two-handed dunk. After the play, Edwards celebrated with a flex and shout before Barrett gave him a slight bump as both players ran back up the court.
Fresh off a 41-point performance in Tuesday’s win over Memphis, Edwards was efficient again, shooting 8-for-12 from the field and knocking down five of his eight attempts from beyond the arc.
The Timberwolves (40-23) also benefited from strong performances by Rudy Gobert, who recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds, Julius Randle with 17 points, and Donte DiVincenzo, who added 16. Minnesota’s victory, combined with Houston’s overtime loss to Golden State, moved the Wolves one game ahead of the Rockets for third place in the Western Conference.
RJ Barrett led Toronto with 25 points, while Immanuel Quickley contributed 18. The Raptors have now lost four of their last five games but remain fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Brandon Ingram, who was listed as questionable due to a sprained left thumb, played and finished with 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting.
Minnesota led 55-54 at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter with an 11-0 run, stretching the lead to 86-70.
