Immanuel Quickley tallied 27 points and 11 assists as the Toronto Raptors pulled away after halftime to defeat the Washington Wizards 134-125 on Saturday night.
Brandon Ingram chipped in 24 points for Toronto, which bounced back after consecutive home defeats to Western Conference powers Oklahoma City and San Antonio. The Raptors remain fifth in the Eastern Conference, now holding a three-game cushion over the play-in spots.
Washington, coming off back-to-back wins over Indiana following the All-Star break, dropped its fourth straight. Will Riley led the Wizards with 19 points.
The Wizards were once again short-handed, missing recent additions Anthony Davis (finger) and Trae Young (knee/quad), while center Alex Sarr (hamstring) also sat out. Toronto was without Collin Murray-Boyles due to a thumb injury.
Washington held a slim three-point edge midway through the third quarter before Toronto surged ahead with an 11-2 run, punctuated by an Ingram 3-pointer. The Raptors led 98-92 entering the fourth and quickly extended the margin to double digits.
All five Toronto starters scored at least 18 points. RJ Barrett added 21, Scottie Barnes had 18, and Jakob Poeltl contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Bilal Coulibaly and Kyshawn George each scored 14 for Washington. The Wizards were efficient from long range, hitting 16 of 34 attempts, but Toronto dominated inside, converting 42 of 63 shots at the rim.
Earlier in the day, Washington signed former Maryland standout Julian Reese to a two-way deal, though he did not dress for the game.
Despite a 64-26 advantage in bench scoring, the Wizards couldn’t overcome Toronto’s balanced attack.
