RJ Barrett scored a team-high 21 points, and Sandro Mamukelashvili added 20 as the Toronto Raptors opened a five-game homestand with a solid 107-100 victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night.
Brandon Ingram chipped in 19 point,s and Immanuel Quickley finished with 17 as Toronto snapped a two-game losing streak and continued to build momentum midway through the season. The win also allowed the Raptors to match last season’s total of 30 victories, doing so with 31 games still remaining on the schedule.
Scottie Barnes, who was recently named to his second NBA All-Star Game, contributed 14 points and nine rebounds in the win. Barnes briefly exited late in the fourth quarter after injuring his left foot while coming up with a steal with 4:48 remaining. He headed to the locker room moments later but returned to the floor for the final 3:05 to help Toronto close out the game.
Utah was led by Lauri Markkanen, who recorded a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Isaiah Collier added 19 points, and Jusuf Nurkic finished with 11 points and 13 boards. Despite those efforts, the Jazz dropped their sixth straight game, marking their longest losing streak of the season.
Toronto relied on steady scoring throughout the lineup to keep Utah at arm’s length, countering each Jazz run with timely baskets. Barrett set the tone offensively, attacking the rim and knocking down key shots, while Mamukelashvili provided a strong presence inside and Ingram supplied consistent scoring from the wing.
The Raptors’ depth and composure down the stretch proved decisive as they protected a late lead and avoided costly turnovers, allowing them to secure the seven-point victory in front of the home crowd.
