Immanuel Quickley delivered a standout performance Sunday night, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Toronto Raptors edged the NBA-leading Oklahoma City Thunder 103-101 to extend their winning streak to four games.
RJ Barrett added 14 points for Toronto, while Scottie Barnes chipped in a double-double of his own with 10 points and 10 boards.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander paced Oklahoma City with 24 points on an efficient 8-for-11 shooting night, pushing his streak of 20-point games to 117 — the second-longest run in league history. Lu Dort contributed a season-high 19 points, Kenrich Williams scored 15, and Chet Holmgren posted 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Thunder were coming off a surprising home loss to Indiana on Friday and were shorthanded again, playing without starters Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein, as well as key reserve Ajay Mitchell. Guard Cason Wallace also exited early with a sore left groin.
Toronto led 64-60 at halftime after limiting Gilgeous-Alexander to just nine first-half points. Oklahoma City surged ahead in the third quarter behind its star guard, who scored 12 in the period to give the Thunder an 81-79 edge entering the final frame.
The Raptors responded with steady defense and timely execution down the stretch. Barnes came up with a critical block on Holmgren late, helping Toronto protect a 101-99 lead. After Jamal Shead missed two free throws with 13 seconds remaining, the Raptors secured the rebound, and Quickley calmly knocked down two foul shots with 8.2 seconds left to seal the win.
Despite his MVP pedigree, Gilgeous-Alexander was held to just three points in the fourth quarter and attempted only one shot.
