The Toronto Raptors have extended Jakob Poeltl.

Jakob Poeltl has agreed on a four-year, $104 million contract extension with the Raptors through 2029-30, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania:

Poeltl will exercise his $19.5-million player option for 2026-27 and add three more years to his current contract, per Charania.

Poeltl averaged a career-high 14.5 points, 9.6 boards, 2.8 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals in 57 appearances last season.

The Raptors reportedly didn’t want to include Poeltl in a trade for Kevin Durant this summer, so Toronto values their starting center. They are hoping he will be an essential part in helping the Raptors take the next step this season.

Toronto acquired Poeltl from the San Antonio Spurs in February 2023. He has provided stability on both ends of the floor for the team.

The Raptors are 13-44 over the last two seasons without Poeltl in the lineup and they are 42-65 when he plays. This is a good deal for the Raptors considering how valuable Poeltl is to the team.

The Raptors originally selected Poeltl with the No. 9 overall pick in 2016.

Raptors sign Sandro Mamukelashvili to two-year deal

The Toronto Raptors acquired their backup center.

They reportedly sign Sandro Mamukelashvili to a two-year, $5.5 million deal, per ESPN’s Shams Charania
