Former Toronto Raptors champion Pascal Siakam dominated Game 2 against the New York Knicks.
The Indiana Pacers have been on an impressive postseason run and it looks like no end is in sight.
Indiana stole both games at Madison Square Garden thanks to Siakam’s 39 points. He scored efficiently by shooting 15-for-23 and even went 3-for-5 from 3-point range.
New York had no answer for Siakam and tried multiple matchups on him. One being Mitchell Robinson, who lacked the necessary footspeed and even left Siakam open at points.
Additionally, another former Raptor in O.G. Anunoby matched up initially, but the Pacers were smart to get out on missed shots or draw switches.
For a playoff team to go 11 players deep is unheard of. Indiana simply wears teams down with fresh bodies.
By getting the ball out quick on stops or after a make, mismatches are created. Allowing for Siakam to reap the benefits of smaller players on him.
Consequently, Friday night was a postseason high for the former Raptors champion and he may have punched his ticket to another Finals appearance.
Notably, Indiana got ran off their home floor in Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Granted, they won the series, but for the Knicks, their motivation is that the Pacers are not unbeatable at home.
Once Siakam arrived to the Pacers, he formed an underrated duo with Tyrese Haliburton. Now, there is a window to make an NBA Finals appearance in just their first full season together.
