The 2025 NBA Draft is steadily approaching for the Toronto Raptors.

Toronto is eager to add another prospect to complement its young core.

After a season filled with losing, the Raptors are focusing on next season to take a leap as a competitive Eastern Conference team.

Once the regular season came to an end, Toronto found themselves with the 7th-best lottery odds. Hopefully, the ping pong balls are in their favor and they can move up in the draft.

However, should the odds remain, Toronto will be picking No. 7. Cameron Salerno of CBS Sports projects the Raptors taking South Carolina’s Collin Murray-Boyles with that pick in his latest mock draft.

In his sophomore season, Murray-Boyles put up 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.5 steals on 58.6 percent from the field. He is a built 6’7″, 245 pounds, who plays physical.

Unfortunately, floor spacing is a skill that he lacks as a 26.5 percent shooter this past season. Although he displayed a willingness to take those shots compared to not taking them in his freshman year.

Potentially, Toronto taps into that if Murray-Boyles is selected and it would be an intriguing project.

Forwards are a staple for this organization, but this pick would create a crowd. Names like RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram all deserve high minutes, leaving Murray-Boyles out.

But adding a physical forward who can stir things up off the bench is useful to have. Certainly, Murray-Boyles is a player capable of two-way play off the bench.

Comparing Collin Murray-Boyles two seasons at South Carolina

One-and-done is common nowadays in the college basketball landscape, but Collin Murray-Boyles stuck around for two seasons at South Carolina.

His freshman-to-sophomore year jump in production was notable. His points went from 10.4 to 16.8, rebounding jumped from 5.7 to 8.3 and he began to shoot 3-pointers as a non-shooter to 26.5 percent.
