The 2025 NBA Draft is the first thing up for the Toronto Raptors this offseason.

Toronto is poised to add another complimentary prospect to their organization.

After another season filled with losing, the Raptors are looking to make next season more memorable by playing competitive basketball.

Once the regular season concluded, Toronto finished with the 7th best lottery odds. Hopefully, the Raptors have the ping bong balls fall in their favor this time around.

However, should the odds remain pact, Toronto is going to be picking No. 7. Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo Sports projects the Raptors taking Illinois’ Kasparas Jakucionis with that pick in his latest mock draft.

Through 33 games this season with the Fighting Illini, The 6’6″ guard averaged 15.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a freshman. So, he can do a bit of everything on the court as a taller point guard.

Unfortunately, Jakucionis’ three-point shooting trickled off as the college season wore on. It does not mean he cannot be an NBA-level shooter, but that can be an area worth working on with him.

As a bench piece, the Lithuanian guard can certainly provide steadiness and can orchestrate an offense. Given the Raptors having several ball handlers, it would be intriguing to see how head coach Darko Rajakovic would hypothetically use him.

Toronto’s bench production turned into a bright spot as the young players began to get opportunities. Although, Jakucionis could slide into that backup point guard role well enough to provide stability off the bench.

CBS Sports projects Raptors selecting Kasparas Jakucionis in latest mock draft

Mock drafts are beginning to ramp up as analysts begin to ponder team needs. That being said, Kasparas Jakucionis is frequently being linked to Toronto in these mocks.

Adam Finkelstein of CBS Sports put out a mock draft and shared the same sentiment as Yahoo Sports by projecting Jakucionis to the Raptors.
