Brandon Ingram has officially been shut down for the season.

The newly acquired Toronto Raptors forward was ruled out for the team’s remaining two games after he underwent a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection on Tuesday afternoon, per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.

Ingram saw a foot specialist in New York City last weekend and that’s when the decision for treatment was made. Ingram continues to recover from a severe ankle sprain he suffered in December.

Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic commented on Ingram’s ankle injury on Wednesday, via Sports Illustrated Aaron’s Rose:

“The reasoning behind it is it’s going to speed up his recovery. It’s going to give him time to really rehab and rest well and to be ready for our summer program…we’re doing everything in our power to to prevent [future injuries]. He’s doing amazing job. He’s very compliant. He is putting a lot of work in. I strongly believe that it’s going to be behind us.”

Ingram’s season ends with him suiting up in just 18 games, all with the New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from three. The 27-year-old was acquired at the trade deadline in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a 2026 first-round pick and a future second-rounder. Ingram then signed a three-year, $120 million contract extension with Toronto as he’s expected to be part of the team’s long-term plans.

This will be an important offseason for Ingram to properly rehab and get back to full health ahead of next season.

Former Raptors guard Terence Davis signs with Sacramento Kings

Former Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis is getting another shot in the NBA.

The Sacramento Kings have signed Davis for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
