Gilgeous-Alexander seems to be taking the side of Drake as his appearance comes almost a year after DeRozan was featured in Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video, which was a diss track aimed at Drake. DeRozan’s appearance caused a rift between the former Toronto Raptors star and Drake.
The feud continued into this season when Drake made an appearance on the Raptors broadcast and called DeRozan a “goof” and said if Toronto ever retired his jersey he would personally go up and tear it down from the rafters.
Meanwhile, Drake has shown nothing but love to Gilgeous-Alexander. He praised him last year after one of his performances.
“He’s the future of the NBA. His name is Shai Gilgeous. We both rep the six, but he loves the [expletive] out of y’all,” Drake said in March 2024.
During this season Gilgeous-Alexander and Drake shared a moment at halftime during a Thunder vs. Raptors game in Toronto. It was one of the few home games Drake attended this season.
Drake has been the Raptors’ global ambassador since 2013. While Gilgeous-Alexander has his Thunder in 1st place in the Western Conference and is closing in on the MVP award.
Scottie Barnes helps keep Toronto school open with generous donation
Toronto Raptors’ forward Scottie Barnes is the reason why a Toronto school will be able to keep its doors open.
The Polkadots Playland and Montessori Academy in Brampton has been struggling to pay off a $90,000 debt to its landlord. The academy had to shut down for a period of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that’s when their struggles began. The school offers programs for kids from kindergarten to Grade six as well as helps those on the Autism spectrum.
