Devin Booker scored 27 points and spearheaded a dominant second-quarter surge as the Phoenix Suns cruised past the Toronto Raptors 129-89 on Monday night.
Despite missing injured guard Bradley Beal, the Suns scored seven players in double figures. Thirteen different Suns players contributed to the scoreboard, and their final margin of victory—40 points—was the game’s largest lead.
Phoenix trailed 29-24 at the end of the first quarter but flipped the game entirely by outscoring Toronto 39-11 in the second, building a 23-point halftime advantage. Much of the run came with reserves Royce O’Neale, Tyus Jones, Cody Martin, and Oso Ighodaro playing alongside Booker.
Ryan Dunn finished with 17 points, Jones added 15 with four three-pointers, while Kevin Durant chipped in 14. Monte Morris (12 points), Nick Richards (10 points), and O’Neale (11 points, 10 rebounds) also made key contributions.
Scottie Barnes led Toronto with 16 points, while Immanuel Quickley recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. The Raptors played without RJ Barrett (illness), Gradey Dick (right knee bruise), and Jakob Poeltl (rest).
Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed before the game that Beal will be sidelined for at least a week due to a left hamstring injury sustained in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers. Beal, who has now missed 21 of the Suns’ 69 games this season, underwent an MRI and will be re-evaluated in seven days. Collin Gillespie started his first career in Beal’s absence.
