The Toronto Raptors are about to enter their final part of the season.
The Raptors returned to practice on Wednesday with a full squad.
Jakob Poeltl was back practicing on the court after missing 5 games with a hip injury. Poeltl hasn’t been cleared to return to game action yet, but it seems like he’s trending in the right direction. The team will see how he looks during Thursday’s practice before they update his status for Friday’s game against the Miami Heat, per Sports Illustrated’s Aaron Rose.
Meanwhile, Brandon Ingram remains out with a high ankle sprain. It seems like he is still weeks away from returning from the injury he suffered in early December. The Raptors are taking things very slow with their new acquisition as Ingram will be reevaluated every two weeks.
Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic provided an update on Ingram saying “he’s not close at this point to come back and play,” per Rose.
The Raptors currently have the 5th worst record in the NBA. Six of their next 7 games come against playoff-esque teams.
However, in their final 20 games they play the Washington Wizards 3 times, Charlotte Hornets twice, Utah Jazz twice, Portland Trail Blazers twice, Brooklyn Nets twice, Philadelphia 76ers twice, San Antonio Spurs twice who just lost Victor Wembanyama for the season with a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder and Chicago Bulls.
Ulrich Chomche suffers season-ending injury
The Toronto Raptors can’t catch a break when it comes to injuries.
Raptors young center Ulrich Chomche will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a partial MCL tear in his right knee, TSN’s Josh Lewenberg reported.
