The shorthanded Toronto Raptors went into Philadelphia and upset the 76ers 106-103.
Agressive Scottie Barnes
Barnes was in full attack mode against the 76ers. He did a great job of getting downhill and getting to the free throw line. Barnes had 15 free throw attempts and made 12 of them. When Barnes isn’t forcing outside shots and is playing inside while using his size to his advantage, he is a force. He only took two three-point attempts and did most of his damage down low. Barnes capped off his impressive 33-point outing by taking on Joel Embiid in an isolation matchup and hit a mid-range shot over him just outside the corner of the paint with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter. The 23-year-old also played solid defense, making this one of his best performances of the season.
Supercharged Immanuel Quickley
Quickley is coming off arguably his best two games of the season. Following his nice outing in Houston, Quickley was back at it again with a very efficient game. He was back to his normal workload playing 34 minutes and was 7-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-8 from downtown to finish with 23 points. He dominated the head-to-head matchup against Tyrese Maxey. Maxey only had 5 points on 1-for-9 shooting. His only made field goal attempt, which was a three came in the final minute of the game. Quickley and Barnes played off each other well, as the Raptors were a +13 in 34 minutes with both of them on the court.
Joel Embiid costly turnover
With the Raptors carrying a 2-point lead in the closing seconds of the game, Joel Embiid passed up a wide open three-point attempt with 11.7 seconds, which would’ve given the 76ers the lead. Instead of taking the shot, Embiid decided to attack inside hoping to draw contact, but he coughed up the basketball as Gradey Dick came up with it. Embiid’s indecisiveness cost the 76ers the game.
