Scottie Barnes won’t be filling in for Giannis Antetokounmpo as an injury replacement at NBA All-Star Weekend.

It was always going to be tough for Barnes to get into the All-Star Game, considering the Raptors’ 16-37 record. Also, Barnes missed some time due to injury which hurt his chances as well. However, Barnes has still put together a nice season for the Raptors. The 23-year-old is averaging 19.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game, while becoming one of the top defenders in the league.
Barnes has also seen a massive improvement in his mid-range game, which has helped his offense. Although, his three-point shooting hasn’t been good this season and is still a work in progress. On the defensive end, Barnes has really made his impact. He’s averaging over a steal and a block per game, while guarding the other team’s top players.
If Barnes continues his current development, he will certainly be in position to once again receive All-Star honors next season. The Raptors lone representative at All-Star Weekend will be sophomore Gradey Dick, who will be in the Rising Stars Game.
