The Toronto Raptors will be shorthanded once again when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers.
RJ Barrett (concussion) has been ruled out for Tuesday night’s game. Barrett is set to miss his fifth straight game after hitting his head hard on the court against the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 2.
Jakob Poeltl (hip) will miss his fourth straight game. The Raptors are 0-8 without Poeltl this season, whose absence leaves a big hole in Toronto’s frontcourt depth. As a result, Ulrich Chomche has been called up to the NBA club. It will be interesting to see if Chomche gets minutes in this game as the Raptors are down to Jonathan Mogbo, Orlando Robinson and Chris Boucher when it comes to healthy big men available.
Brandon Ingram (ankle) remains out. Sportsnet’s Michael Grange reported that Ingram will be out “at least a month” as he recovers from an ankle injury that has kept him out since Dec. 7.
PJ Tucker will also be out for the Raptors as general manager Bobby Webster said he doesn’t anticipate Tucker joining the team and a buyout could be coming.
Mogbo (ankle) and Gradey Dick (neck) are probable. Mogbo rolled his ankle against the Houston Rockets but was good to return. Meanwhile, Dick left the game against Houston with a neck contusion and did not return. He cleared the first initial concussion test and it doesn’t seem like he will miss time.
For the 76ers, they have a clean injury report, except for Jared McCain who’s out for the season after receiving surgery on his left knee.
Scottie Barnes not named All-Star injury replacement for Giannis Antetokounmpo
Scottie Barnes won’t be filling in for Giannis Antetokounmpo as an injury replacement at NBA All-Star Weekend.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver has selected Trae Young to replace Antetokounmpo in the All-Star Game, the league announced.
