Gradey Dick will be participating in the NBA’s Rising Stars Game during All-Star Weekend.
Dick has been selected for the sophomores and will be making his first appearance in the All-Star Weekend festivities.
He missed out on being named to the event last season as a rookie. However, his improved sophomore season made him virtually a lock to be invited this year.
Dick joins a sophomores player pool that includes: Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Bilal Coulibaly, Keyonte George, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Dereck Lively II, Brandon Miller, Amen Thompson and Cason Wallace.
No Raptors players were named to the rookies player pool. The rookies will be headlined by Canadian Zach Edey as he will be joined by: Bub Carrington, Stephon Castle, Tristian Da Silva, Dalton Knecht, Jared Mccain (injured), Yves Missi, Zacchaire Risacher, Alex Sarr and Jaylen Wells.
Dick being involved in this game is a true testament to his development as a player this season. He has seen his points per game average grow to 15.7 this season and he has solidified himself as a starter in Toronto.
The NBA announced the 28-player pool on Monday as the Rising Stars Game is set to take place on Feb. 14 at Chase Center. The event will feature 10 rookies, 11 sophomores and 7 NBA G League players who will participate in a four-team, mini-tournament.
The Rising Stars tournament will feature two semifinal games played to 40 points. Then there will be a championship game played to 25 points as the winning team will punch its ticket to the 2025 NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16.
