Trade season is approaching and the Toronto Raptors possess one of the most intriguing center options in Jakob Poeltl.
However, it remains to be seen if the veteran center is truly up for sale.
The 29-year-old is currently averaging a career-high 14.9 points and 10.6 rebounds to begin this season.
As the Feb. 6 trade deadline approaches, there will be opposing general managers testing the water on Poeltl. Seeing how the Raptors gave up a first-round pick to acquire him, at the very least, they need one back in any potential deal.
With that being said, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz proposed a trade between the Raptors and Golden State Warriors. He has Poeltl and Garrett Temple going to the Warriors and he has Toronto receiving Moses Moody, Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II. Draft compensation aside, this could be a worthwhile deal for the Raptors.
Looney and Payton II are on expiring contract, but Moody has three years remaining on his contract.
At 22-years-old, Moody has not received ample opportunity to showcase his talents as a lottery pick. The Raptors could offer him minutes in a prominent bench role.
This is the framework of the kind of deal Toronto should look for, should they decide to trade Poeltl.
