The Toronto Raptors stunned the Golden State Warriors 104-101 to snap their five-game losing streak.
Chris Boucher’s heroics
Boucher single-handedly won this game for the Raptors. Boucher erupted in the 4th quarter as he scored 17 of his 18 points in the frame on 7-for-8 shooting from the field to help the Raptors beat the Warriors in crunch time. “He was huge for us tonight. We needed that. He won us the game,” Scottie Barnes told reporters postgame via TSN’s Josh Lewenberg. Boucher has been on an absolute tear over his last four games. He put up 10 points in 4 minutes against the New York Knicks, he scored 23 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he poured in 14 points against the Detroit Pistons and had a game to remember against the Warriors. His play from off the bench has provided a big spark for the Raptors who have been competitive in their last three contests. Boucher’s trade value is at an all-time high right now given his recent stretch of performances.
Jamal Shead continues to grow
Shead continues to impress and he has come alive with his three-point shot. Shead has already demonstrated that he’s a good defesnive talent, but he has recently shown his ability to hit the outside shot. He had hit eight straight three-pointers, including three attempts against Golden State before finally missing one. If Shead can continue to shoot the ball like this, it will make him a legitimate two-way talent. He did a good job in this game running the Raptors second unit. Overall, Shead finished with 9 points on 3 three-pointers made in 17 minutes off the bench.
Raptors spoil Stephen Curry’s night
It could have easily been a home game for Curry. He got the loudest ovation during the starting lineup introductions and his jersey was worn by many fans in attendance. Even Drake was sitting courtside for one of the few games he goes to each year to watch Curry play. Curry was solid in this one scoring 26 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. However, it was not enough to get the Warriors across the finish line as they suffer another bad loss this time to the rebuilding Raptors.
