Scottie Barnes delivered a dominant performance with 33 points and 13 rebounds. At the same time, Immanuel Quickley made an impactful return as the Toronto Raptors ended their 11-game skid with a 130-113 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
Quickley, playing just his fourth game of the season after missing 22 contests with a torn ligament in his left elbow, contributed 21 points and a season-high 15 assists, helping Toronto secure its first win since defeating Indiana at home on December 3.
Gradey Dick added 22 points, and Ochai Agbaji chipped in 14 as the Raptors rebounded from their worst loss in franchise history—a 54-point defeat against Boston on New Year’s Eve, in which they managed just 71 points, the lowest total by any NBA team this season.
Cam Johnson led Brooklyn with 24 points, while D’Angelo Russell scored 22 in his return to the Nets. Brooklyn has now dropped three straight games and 11 of its last 14.
Russell, who was reacquired from the Lakers on December 29, previously played for the Nets from 2017 to 2019.
Keon Johnson finished with 17 points, and Nic Claxton recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but Brooklyn suffered its second consecutive road loss.
