Trade season is underway and the Toronto Raptors hold a valuable role player in Bruce Brown.
Brown is slated to suit up against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. Which would be his season debut as he has been recovering from knee surgery.
Since being traded to Toronto last year in the Pascal Siakam deal, there has been trade noise surrounding Brown as he is a championship-caliber role player.
Due to the 28-year-old not seeing the floor, there have not been as many conversations surrounding a potential new home. Hopefully, he is able to pick up where he left off as a swiss army knife.
Should things pan out, Brown being traded is a high probability. Nathaniel Holloway of Athlon Sports proposed another hypothetical trade for the Raptors. This time involving the Sacramento Kings.
This trade involves Kevin Huerter, Trey Lyles, Colby Jones and draft capital going to Toronto in exchange for Brown and Chris Boucher.
Seeing how fast Sacramento is sinking in the Western Conference and recently firing head coach Mike Brown, their roster needs work.
Frankly, the Kings do not play defense and have leaned too far into their offensive identity. Brown would help slightly, but definitely would not save their season.
However, having a player like him would be refreshing and perhaps be that glue guy that the Kings are missing.
Ultimately, this move for the Raptors is about clearing money off their books. Brown and Boucher are not expected to be long-term fits. Same could be said about Huerter and Lyles.
Perhaps, Masai Ujiri would be looking for pieces that could be long-term fits around Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett.
Hypothetical Raptors trade sees Jakob Poeltl & Bruce Brown to Nuggets
Expect plenty of rumors surrounding Bruce Brown should he be healthy from now to the trade deadline.
Nathaniel Holloway proposed a trade that saw Brown and Poeltl being moved to the Denver Nuggets.
