The Toronto Raptors got blown out by the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night 155-126.

The Raptors set franchise history by allowing the most points in a game.

However, that’s not the only history they made. The Raptors and Grizzlies set the NBA record for the most Canadians to appear in one game. Both sides saw 6 Canadian players enter the game on Thursday, which topped the previous record of 5 on 16 different occasions, per TSN’s Keerthika Uthayakumar:

Six Canadians played in tonight’s Raptors/Grizzlies game.

That’s the most Canadians to play in one game in NBA history.

For the Raptors RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk, Chris Boucher and AJ Lawson took the floor, while Zach Edey and Brandon Clarke suited up for the Grizzlies. This was Edey’s first game against his hometown Raptors. He had an impressive game scoring 21 points, to go along with 16 rebounds and 2 blocks in 27 minutes of action.

It was a fitting way for the record to be set with the Raptors taking on the Grizzles. The Grizzlies originally played in Vancouver for six seasons from 1995-2001 before moving to Tennessee. Both teams wore their throwbacks jerseys in this matchup with the Raptors rocking their classic purple uniforms, while the Grizzlies wore their white jerseys with the font “Vancouver Grizzlies” on the front.

This was a cool milestone which shows just how far Canadian basketball has come.

Lakers monitoring sellers like Raptors ahead of trade deadline

The Toronto Raptors could end up being major sellers at the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline.

One team that has already been linked to the Raptors are the Los Angeles Lakers. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania Los Angeles will be monitoring the sellers around the NBA, which includes the Raptors.
