Toronto’s WNBA franchise is set to debut in 2026.
Once Toronto expansion was announced, there was a lot of speculation about what the team name would be.
Well, the team name was apparently leaked on Dec. 4 as the name “Toronto Tempo” briefly appeared on the league’s official website on the drop-down menu, before it was ultimately removed.
To makes things even more interesting, SportsLogos.Net released images of the team’s logo. The design features a light blue basketball that has a bold white “T” centered. There are also speed lines to the left of the basketball. The logo looks similar to the OHL and Indiana Pacers logo:

The WNBA and Kilmer Sports Ventures, have not officially announced anything yet nor confirmed the leaked name and logo.
They did heavily involve the public in the branding process, encouraging fans from across Canada to go to NameYourTeam.ca to submit input.
Team president Teresa Resch had talked about the importance of a name and logo that encompasses Canadian identity and women’s representation:

Toronto’s WNBA franchise will join the league in 2026 alongside a new team in Portland. The Golden State Valkyries will debut in 2025.
