The Toronto Raptors returned home after their four-game road trip and picked up a 119-116 victory over the Miami Heat.
RJ Barrett shines
Barrett had a tremendous performance against the Heat in this one. There’s something about playing in front of the home crowd that gets him going. Coming into this game, Barrett was averaging 10 points per game more in home games compared road games. Barrett scored 37 points on 15-for-20 shooting against Miami to go along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Barrett had a hot first quarter where he scored 13 points in his first 10 minutes and continued from there. He was very efficient all night long and then he clinched the win for Toronto when he drove inside and scored over Jimmy Butler to put the Raptors up 6 with 2 minutes left in the game.
Scottie Barnes does it all
Barnes fell 1 assist shy of his second straight triple-double. He finished the game with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Barnes continues to operate the point brilliantly and put his teammates in ideal positions to score. He repeatedly found Barrett and Jakob Poeltl and set the Raptors offense up nicely on multiple sequences. Barnes continues to be the hub for Toronto’s offense.
Ja’Kobe Walter with another solid outing
The rookie can play. Walter has seen extended playing time with Gradey Dick sidelined and he continues to make the most out of the opportunity. He scored 12 points on 5-for-10 shooting, while hitting a pair of pull-up jumpshots in the paint and a nice floater as well. Walter just has a knack for the ball and has shown plenty of bright spots on both ends of the floor.
Next on tap
The Raptors will continue their homestand when they host Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 3.
