Jaden Ivey sank a jumper as time expired, sealing a thrilling 102-100 victory for the Detroit Pistons over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night.

Toronto had taken a 98-96 lead after an RJ Barrett three-pointer with 1:47 left, but Ivey responded with a driving layup to tie the game at 1:07.

Following missed opportunities on both ends, Isaiah Stewart’s dunk briefly put Detroit ahead before Scottie Barnes knotted it up at 100-100 with a tough layup in traffic with 22.3 seconds remaining.

After a timeout, Ivey took the final shot, shaking off Ochai Agbaji and sinking a difficult, off-balance jumper from the right baseline as the buzzer sounded.

Ivey finished with 25 points, helping Detroit snap a three-game losing streak. Barnes led the Raptors with 31 points, while Barrett added 17.

Takeaways

Raptors: Barnes exploded for 20 points in the first half on 8-for-16 shooting, including 3-for-8 from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, the other four Toronto starters struggled, combining for just eight points on 2-for-15 shooting. The Raptors stayed in the game thanks to 20 bench points, managing a 48-48 tie at halftime.

Pistons: Detroit played without Cade Cunningham (hip) for the second straight game but welcomed back Ausar Thompson, who made his first appearance in over eight months due to blood-clotting concerns. Thompson, last seen on March 9, received a loud ovation when he checked in late in the first quarter.

Key Moment

Detroit raced out to a 26-11 lead late in the first quarter, but Toronto stormed back with a 29-9 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 40-35 advantage midway through the second.

Key Stat

Toronto dominated the rebounding battle, particularly on the offensive glass. The Raptors finished with 23 offensive rebounds to Detroit’s six, rebounding 53% of their missed shots in the second half while grabbing 71% of the Pistons’ misses.

Up Next

Both teams return to action Wednesday night—Toronto visits New Orleans, while Detroit heads to Memphis.
