The Toronto Raptors played well enough to win in the first three quarters, but fell apart in the fourth as they lose to the Sacramento Kings 112-107.

More injuries

The Raptors continue to get hammered with the injury bug. The team is already without Scottie Barnes (eye), Kelly Olynyk (back), Bruce Brown (knee) and Immanuel Quickley (pelvis). Two more injuries occurred in this game for Toronto. A Domantas Sabonis screen sent Ja’Kobe Walter out of the game with a right AC joint contusion. The same shoulder he had the AC joint sprain in that caused him to miss over a month. Fortunately, X-rays were negative on his shoulder. Also, Jonathan Mogbo was forced to leave the game due to a right hip pointer injury. The injuries are considered day-to-day but early-season injuries are a big reason why the Raptors are 2-7. The Raptors do have a couple of days off before their next game, so their players will get some good rest.

Ugly fourth quarter

The Raptors led the Kings 95-89 early in the fourth before the Kings went on a 9-0 run that gave them the lead for good. DeMar DeRozan started the run with a jumper and Malik Monk scored the next 7 points. Sacramento destroyed the Raptors in the fourth, outscoring them 33-14. The Raptors have given up the most points in the fourth quarter than any other team in the league so far this season.

Gradey Dick off night

Dick had his worst game of the season scoring just 7 points on 3-for-10 shooting from the field and 0-for-5 shooting from three in 24 minutes of action. Dick was in foul trouble for most of the game, which didn’t allow him to sustain any rhythm. The off night for Dick will decrease his scoring average, but overall the sophomore is still averaging an impressive 20.0 points per game through the team’s first 9 contests.

Next on tap

The Raptors will have two days off before they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 9.

This will be the Raptors third game of their season-long five-game road trip.
