The Toronto Raptors fall to the Denver Nuggets 121-119 in another heartbreaking loss.

RJ Barrett comes up short again

Barrett’s step-back game-winning three looked like it was going to fall, but the ball came in and out to give the Nuggets the win. Barrett missed a game-winning three-point attempt for the second time in a week against the Nuggets. Barrett was guarded closely by Westbrook and there seemed to be some contract, but it was a play on. This is a tough break for Barrett who could have had his heroic moment, but instead it goes down as another missed game-winning attempt. Overall, Barrett didn’t shoot the ball well going 5-for-21 from the field, but he did have 10 assists and 6 rebounds.

Gradey Dick with another masterful performance

Dick continues to impress. He became the first Raptors player to score 20+ points in four straight games before the age of 21. The 20-year-old scored 26 points on 10-for-20 shooting from the field and 4-for-9 shooting from three. Dick moved incredibly well without the basketball and he continues to make the most out of his dribbles. He had 5 dimes to go along with 2 blocks, which included a chase down block on Peyton Watson. The only blemish for Dick in this game were his 4 turnovers. He had a couple of costly turnovers late in the fourth quarter.

Jakob Poeltl deserves his flowers

Poeltl is playing the best basketball of his career. The veteran center turned in another nice performance of 24 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals all while battling Nikola Jokic. The Raptors led by 6 late in the fourth, before Poeltl picked up his 5th and 6th fouls in a span of 23 seconds. With Poeltl out of the game, the Nuggets outscored the Raptors 14-8. Poeltl continues to show why he’s irreplaceable for the Raptors. They are simply a much better team when he’s on the court. The fouls piled up for the Raptors as they didn’t get the benefit of the whistle in this game. The Nuggets had 38 free throw attempts and the Raptors only had 18.

Next on tap

The Raptors will continue their road trip when they travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings on Nov. 6.

The Raptors were victorious over the Kings 131-128 in overtime on Nov. 2.
