The Toronto Raptors regular season is here.

Toronto will open up its 30th anniversary season against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena.

This will be the Raptors first full year in their rebuild and it’s an exciting fresh start for this team.

Scottie Barnes will enter his fourth season and he looked sharp in the preseason. This will be his first regular season game since going down with injury on March 1. This is Barnes’ team now and he will need to lead by example. The Raptors will go as far as Barnes takes them.

Immanuel Quickley is back and healthy in the starting lineup. He will enter his first full season as a lead guard. Quickley and Gradey Dick will make up the Raptors backcourt and hopefully that brings on improved three-point shooting. Three-point shooting was a struggle for this team last season so the Raptors will need Quickley and Dick to help space the floor and drain outside shots.

The Raptors will have to wait for their 2024 first-round pick Ja’Kobe Walter to make his debut. He continues to be sidelined which means the Raptors’ other rookie selections Jamal Shead and potentially Jonathan Mogbo could make their debut. Shead should definitely get some playing time in this one as he has been excellent for the Raptors during the preseason. He will likely see time in the rotation with players out and he pencils in as the Raptors third-string point guard.

Toronto will be without RJ Barrett who’s working his way back from a AC joint injury, Walter who is also dealing with an AC joint issue, Kelly Olynyk who’s out with a back injury and Bruce Brown who continues to recover from offseason knee surgery. The Cavaliers will be without Max Strus who’s dealing with an ankle injury.
