The Toronto Raptors announced their final roster cuts ahead of the 2024-25 regular season.

The Raptors waived guards Jahmi’us Ramsey and Jared Rhoden, along with centre Branden Carlson.

Toronto also converted Jamison Battle’s Exhibit 10 contract into a two-way deal that will allow the organization to keep his rights both with the Raptors and Raptors 905 this season, the team announced.

Battle had a solid showing during the preseason. He showcased his impressive three-point shooting and great size as a 6-foot-6 wing defender. Battle shot 8-for-14 from three-point range during the preseason, scoring 32 points in 49 minutes for Toronto.

The 23-year-old is out of Ohio State and went undrafted this past year. With the Buckeyes Battle averaged 15.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 43.3 percent from deep.

Battle will join Ulrich Chomche and DJ Carton as Toronto’s two-way players for this season.

Ramsey and Rhoden were waived from their non-guaranteed deals for this year. As for Carlson, he had been signed to a two-way deal but the organization decided to cut him. Carlson had high hopes coming into the preseason, but he was unable to carve out any meaningful minutes. The Raptors had brought Carlson in as an undrafted player earlier in the offseason.

Bruno Fernando has secured the Raptors 15th roster spot, which gives Toronto some more depth in their frontcourt. He will slide in as the team’s third-string center behind Kelly Olynyk and Jakob Poeltl. With the Raptors needing more insurance at the center position, they couldn’t afford to cut ties with Fernando

Next up for Raptors

Now that the Raptors’ final roster has been finalized, it’s time for the regular season.

The Raptors will open things up on Oct. 23 when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
