Toronto Raptors guard Gradey Dick might be an underrated piece to the Raptors rebuild.
While there were challenges last season, Dick showed flashes.
Dick’s three-point shooting is a big reason why he was drafted by Toronto. Being able to space the floor has been lacking for the past few years for the Raptors.
However, when the franchise changed its direction by trading Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby, that pressure to perform immediately subsided.
When looking at the former Kansas Jayhawks’ rookie year, he averaged 8.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 42.5 percent shooting from the field and 36.5 percent shooting from three.
Towards the end of last season, Dick saw an increased workload due to Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett all missing time.
As preseason is underway for the Raptors, that means opening night is only a few weeks away. Before Dick kicks off his second season in the league, he appeared on Barstool Sports’ Sundae Conversation.
There were plenty of innuendos made about Dick and his last name, making for a light-hearted interview. But, there is a skill that Raptors fans were not aware of as Dick can do a Donald Duck impression.
It was an impressive one that he showcased as the end of the video. At 20-years-old, there is plenty of time for Dick to grow and develop as a player, yet he can still have fun. This appearance on Sundae Conversation showed the humorous side of him.
Gradey Dick on his weight gain & approach for this season
An aspect that Gradey Dick needed to improve on was his body. As a skinny three-point shooter coming out of Kansas, he needed to put on weight to hang at the NBA level.
Dick put on weight this offseason and shared his approach for this upcoming season.
