The NBA has announced its plans for “Maison NBA,” which is an interactive and free cultural experience set to debut in Montreal from Oct. 4 to Oct. 6.

The event’s final day will be planned in correlation with the Raptors first preseason game against the Washington Wizards in Montreal on Oct. 6.

The website www.maisonnba.ca gives a little preview about the event:

“Maison NBA is an immersive, three-day fan experience taking place from October 4-6 ahead of the 2024 NBA Canada Series presented by Bell. The free, all-ages exhibition spans 12,000 square feet and features interactive games, photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, contests, and meet-and-greets with NBA and WNBA legends. Fans will also have the chance to see the Emirates NBA Cup Championship Trophy, making its Canadian debut.”

The event will feature Raptors legend Vince Carter and fan favorite Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams along with WNBA player and Canadian Women’s National Team member Natalie Achonwa.

The event will take place at Crew Collective & Café in Old Montréal. The Raptors will tipoff their preseason at the Bell Centre at 7:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 6.

This event will kick off what’s expected to be a series of events planned for the Raptors 30th anniversary season. The franchise has already released a new logo for this season and they are expected to bring back its classic purple color jerseys. There have also been leaks online revealing a new alternate jersey featuring a dinosaur dunking a basketball through its legs, paying homage to Carter’s iconic dunk from the 2000 dunk contest.

Carter will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame with his enshrinement set for Oct. 13-14 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Raptors are expected to honor Carter this season, although nothing has been formally announced yet.

Bruce Brown undergoes surgery ahead of 2024-25 season

Bruce Brown has undergone an arthroscopic surgical procedure on his right knee, the Toronto Raptors announced.

He will be re-evaluated in three weeks, so Brown will miss the start of training camp at a minimum.
