Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic has been ranked as one of the worst coaches in the NBA.

Sam Quinn of CBS Sports ranked every NBA coach for the 2024-25 season and put them in nine different tiers.

He placed Rajakovic in Tier 9 labelled as: “We don’t know enough.”

Quinn ranked Rajakovic 26th overall ahead of Jordi Fernandez of the Brooklyn Nets, Charles Lee of the Charlotte Hornets, Brian Keefe of the Washington Wizards and JJ Redick of the Los Angeles Lakers.

When ranking Rajakovic at No. 26 Quinn says: “Rajakovic has one tanking season on the job. Check back with me in a year and I’ll have something to say.” This is a fair assessment considering the Raptors situation last season.

Quinn put former Raptors head coach Nick Nurse in Tier 2 labelled as: “The elites.”

He ranked Nurse as the 2nd best coach in the NBA, behind Eric Spoelstra of the Miami Heat who’s in his own Tier 1 labelled: “The undisputed king.”

Quinn praised Nurse saying: “Nurse, at his core, is a problem solver. Whatever you show him on the court, he’s going to have some idea about how to stop it, and the results thus far have spoken for themselves.”

Quinn also applauded Nurse for losing Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green and still having the Raptors maintain the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Joining Nurse in Tier 2 is Rick Carlisle of the Indiana Pacers ranked No. 3, Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors ranked No. 4 and Ty Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers ranked No. 5.

Coaches were ranked by track record, performance against expectations, points of emphasis, creativity, player development, rotation management and people management.

DeMar DeRozan talks possibility of retiring with Raptors

DeMar DeRozan didn’t shut down the idea of one day retiring with the Toronto Raptors.

DeRozan’s new book “Above the Noise” went on sale last week and he made a stop in Toronto during his book tour.

The 35-year-old was asked by Anne-Marie Mediwake on CTV’s Your Morning if he would retire as a Raptor and he offered an interesting response.
