Christian Koloko has found a new home.

The 24-year-old is signing with the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract.

He will be able to join them after he receives clearance from the NBA’s fitness panel, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported:

The Lakers and seven-foot center Christian Koloko have agreed on a deal, agent Calvin Andrews of Klutch Sports says. Koloko is expected to have an opportunity for a role in Lakers frontcourt after he receives clearance from league’s fitness panel. https://t.co/QEYw7Or4kR

Charania reported that the Lakers were the frontrunners to acquire Koloko, along with the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs.

Charania reported in January that Koloko was suffering from a blood clot issue that kept him sidelined for the Raptors.

After the Raptors dealt Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers in a deal that saw them acquire Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, Kira Lewis Jr. and three first-round picks, Toronto waived Koloko in a subsequent move.

Last month Koloko’s agent Calvin Andrews provided an update and said that the Raptors kept very close eyes on Koloko’s situation and Koloko would be open to coming back to the Raptors, via Sports Illustrated Aaron Rose.

However, in the end Koloko joins the Lakers. He will get an opportunity to play in the middle behind superstar Anthony Davis and gives Los Angeles some much needed frontcourt depth.

The Raptors drafted Koloko 33rd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.

In 58 games with Toronto in 2022-23, Koloko averaged 13.8 minutes, 3.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 block.

Raptors 905 schedule for 2024-25 season released

The Toronto Raptors are about to begin preparations on an intriguing 2024-25 season.

At the same time, their G League affiliate — Raptors 905 — is preparing for their own campaign.

The 2024-25 schedule for Raptors 905 has been released, which can be seen here.
