Former Toronto Raptors forward Jordan Nwora is heading to Turkey to play for Anadolu Efes following four seasons in the NBA.

Nwora signed a multi-year deal, Anadolu Efes announced.

This will mark Nwora’s first time playing overseas:

The Raptors acquired Nwora from the Indiana Pacers as part of the Pascal Siakam trade last season.

The 25-year-old played in 34 games for Toronto. He averaged 7.9 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 34.7 percent from three-point range. He had some good moments for the Raptors and displayed his ability to hit shots, but he was a poor decision maker and wasn’t good enough defensively to stay in the rotation.

Nwora was the 45th pick of the 2020 NBA draft. He spent two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, winning a championship with the team in 2021. He was then dealt in a four-team trade to the Pacers before being traded to Toronto.

Nwora will join former Raptors Stanley Johnson and Daniel Oturu who are both playing for Anadolu Efes this season as well.

Toronto currently has one open roster spot for training camp. They have an open guaranteed contract after buying out Sasha Vezenkov. The Raptors announced the signing of Bruno Fernando a few days ago and they are expected to sign one more player before training camp begins in October.

France Vs. Canada Olympic men’s basketball preview

Canada goes up against France in the quarterfinals of Olympic men’s basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Canada comes into this matchup having won Group A, which was dubbed the “Group of Death.” The Canadians got past Greece, Australia and Spain to finish 3-0 in the group stage. Meanwhile, France went 2-1 during the group stage. France trailed by as many as 24 points in the loss to Germany and needed some late-game magic to get by Japan in the game prior.

Canada is back in the Olympic quarterfinals for the first time since the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney. That’s where the program suffered a five-point loss to France. Now, 24 years later Canada has a chance for redemption.
