Former Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa is returning to the New York Knicks.

Achiuwa has agreed on a one-year, $6 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski:

Achiuwa averaged 7.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in 49 appearances with the Knicks during the 2023-24 season.

The Knicks acquired Achiuwa on Dec. 30 from the Raptors as part of a trade package that included O.G. Anunoby and Malachi Flynn. RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley were shipped to Toronto.

The Knicks bringing back Achiuwa will help their frontcourt depth after they lost center Isaiah Hartenstein via free agency to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Achiuwa is a bit undersized to play center, but he was productive last season when the Knicks were without some of their big men due to injuries.

Achiuwa will likely be the team’s top big from off the bench. This is a big re-signing for the Knicks, who will get a key piece of their rotation back on a fair contract.

The market quieted for Achiuwa this summer. However, he will get a chance to contribute in a big way on a one-year deal in hopes of earning a bigger pay day and longer contract next summer.

The Knicks re-signing Achiuwa caps off a big summer for them. They traded for Mikal Bridges and re-signed Anunoby to build out a roster that should be able to contend for a title this season.

Raptors unveil 30th anniversary logo for 2024-25 season

The Toronto Raptors will have a new logo for their 30th anniversary this season.

The team revealed a new logo for the 2024-25 season, along with a commitment to a year-long calendar of special moments and events.

This will honor the culture, the city and the icons connected to the Raptors.
