Summer League is underway for the Toronto Raptors and these games allow for young players like Ulrich Chomche to showcase their talents.
Toronto selected Chomche with the No. 57 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and ultimately signed him to a two-way contract.
Originally from Cameroon, Chomche is only 18-years-old and has plenty of time to develop with the Raptors G League affiliate, Raptors 905.
It is never an easy path to the NBA, but every player has a different story to share. For Chomche, his story is inspiring, ultimately going from a farmer to an NBA player, via William Lou:
“I come from a place where everybody is a farmer. That’s where everything started. From there I went to NBA academy, that’s where I learned how to play basketball the right way. Basically that’s where everything started…that’s even where I started to learn how to speak English…after that I’m here today and I hope the future is going to be bright.”
With how much talent is coming into the league nowadays, it is now even harder to maintain a career. However, Chomche comes into a youthful situation, where he can continue to develop and hopefully become a rotation player down the line.
Notably, Chomche put up 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists on 3-for-4 shooting from the field in 18 minutes in the Raptors third Summer League game against the Utah Jazz.
Chomche is very young and he needs to continue to develop his game and body.
All in all, he can potentially become a special player for the Raptors.
Gradey Dick says he put on nine pounds of muscle
Another name to watch in Las Vegas is Gradey Dick as he prepares for his sophomore season.
After coming into the league with a skinny frame, Dick shared that he put on nine pounds of muscle so far this summer.
