The Toronto Raptors opened up Summer League with 94-69 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Raptors outscored the Thunder 30-10 in the first quarter and then finished the game on a dominant 21-5 run.

The Raptors were led by Gradey Dick who scored a team-high 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 6 assists.

Branden Carlson scored 13 points and hauled in 8 rebounds. Meanwhile, D.J. Carton chipped in with 13 points from off the bench. Javon Freeman-Liberty added 12 points as the Raptors bench scored 44 points in total.

Gradey Dick

Gradey Dick stood out in this game. The second year player put the ball on the floor and showed off tremendous playmaking. He was able to create for his teammates and he looked comfortable on the ball. He also did a solid job on the glass and showed a lot of hustle. Dick looks poised to be the Raptors starting shooting guard this season.

The Raptors rookies

It was a rough shooting game for the Raptors 2024 first-round pick Ja’Kobe Walter. He finished with just 5 points on 2-8 shooting from the field and he was 0-5 from three. Walter’s efficiency was a bit of a concern coming out of college so it’ll be important for him to develop some rhythm in Summer League.

Jamal Shead played with a great motor and he showed off his defensive intensity. He had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 19 minutes of action.

Jonathan Mogbo only took one shot and made it. He finished with 2 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

Finally, Ulrich Chomche showed off his impressive size in his Summer League debut. He didn’t score but he finished with 8 rebounds and had some solid moments defensively, showing off his great length.

Ochai Agbaji

Agbaji had a quiet night offensively, finishing with just 7 points in 24 minutes of action. The hope is that Agbaji can develop his offense and show some consistency with his three-point shot. Like Dick, it will be important for him to use Summer League as an opportunity to grow his game.

Next on tap

The Raptors will be back in action for their second Summer League game on July 14 against the Denver Nuggets.

The game will start at 9:30 p.m. ET.
