Las Vegas Summer League kicks off on July 12, specifically for the Toronto Raptors on July 13.
This is an opportunity for players like Ja’Kobe Walter, Jonathan Mogbo, Jamal Shead and Ulrich Chomche to get their first taste of action against NBA competition.
But, it also allows those who are fighting for a roster spot to try and make a name for themselves. Las Vegas brings all NBA coaches, scouts, front office members and other personnel under one spot, which is great for players to showcase what they can do.
With limited time left until Summer League action, Toronto is making a roster change. According to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet, the Raptors are adding Canadian Fardaws Aimaq to take the spot of Drew Timme:

Aimaq was born in Vancouver and played his fifth and final season of college basketball with the California Golden Bears. He is a 25-years-old and 6’11” center who averaged 13 points and 10.8 rebounds on 48 percent person shooting from the field.
Last season, Aimaq averaged 14.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.0 block on 46.4 percent shooting from the field and 30.2 percent shooting from three-point range.
In regards to Timme, he was an icon for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. He put together a lengthy resume during his time in Spokane, Washington.
He was a two-time WCC Player of the Year, NCAA All-Tournament Team, three-time All-WCC, WCC Tournament MVP and four-time All-WCC Tournament Team. In 134 games, he averaged 17.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 61.8 percent shooting from the field.
All in all, it makes sense to replace Timme with another capable big man. Perhaps, Aimaq can impress in Las Vegas to land a contract somewhere.
Raptors sign Ulrich Chomche to two-way contract
With two-way contracts becoming a viable way to develop young talent, the Raptors recently filled up their final two-way spot.
That player being Ulrich Chomche, who Toronto selected with the No. 57 pick. He will most likely spend most of his time with the Raptors 905.
