The 2024 NBA Draft is almost here.
The Toronto Raptors will have the No. 19 pick on June 26 and then they will open up day 2 of the draft on June 27 with No. 31.
There has been a lot of speculation about who Toronto could take with these picks. In particular, there has been a lot of buzz about the Raptors No. 31 pick which will get the second-round started.
One name that has recently been linked to Toronto at that spot is Bronny James. Raptors president Masai Ujiri “loves” Bronny, according to his agent Rich Paul.
Raptors assistant general manger Dan Tolzman talked about the Raptors reported interest for Bronny, per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg:
“I think all these players are guys we’re looking at. He’s in the mix…Every player on the board we’re looking long and hard at and I wouldn’t say we’ve ruled anybody out.”
There has been some chatter that Toronto could even trade their second-round pick. Tolzman did say that he anticipates the phones being busier than usual leading up to No. 31. However, Toronto is leaning towards keeping the pick.
Tolzman then shared his general thoughts on this year’s draft which is an unpredictable one, per Lewenberg:
“This year probably more than any year it’s wide open. The range of players is about as wide as I can ever remember so that really makes things difficult to project…There’s an added level of uncertainty that isn’t common for this close to the draft.”
The Raptors have worked out many prospects leading up to the draft so it will be interesting to see who the team ends up selecting.
Zach Edey projected to Raptors
Many mock drafts have come out over the last month and one prospect who has constantly been linked to the Raptors at No. 19 is Zach Edey.
Yahoo Sports’ Krysten Peek has Edey going to Toronto in her latest mock draft.
