It seems like Pascal Siakam never got over what the Sacramento Kings said about him.

The former Toronto Raptors All-Star was linked to the Kings just before the 2023 NBA Trade Deadline. However, Siakam apparently didn’t want to be traded there.

The Kings reportedly made some disparaging remarks about Siakam’s game which rubbed him the wrong way, Sam Amick of The Athletic told Sactown Sports 1140:

“The way it was framed to me…in an attempt to drive down what it would take to get him…some gossipy-type feedback on his game had gotten back to him.”

The Kings had reportedly offered a trade package centered around Harrison Barnes for Siakam, Shams Charania reported on FanDuel TV. Trade talks ended quickly after it was learned that Siakam was reluctant to stay with the Kings long-term.

The Raptors ended up dealing Siakam to the Indiana Pacers for Bruce Brown, Kira Lewis Jr., Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks.

Once it became clear that the Raptors and Siakam weren’t going to get a deal done it was only a matter of time before the Raptors traded him before the trade deadline.

Siakam’s 2023-24 season was his last year under contract. Therefore, any team trading for him had to be confident that he would be open to signing a long-term deal. The Pacers made the trade and hoped for the best. Now, it seems like they have the 3o-year-old locked up for the foreseeable.

The Pacers have reportedly signed Siakam to four-year max contract this summer, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Siakam led the Pacers to its first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 10 years this past season.

Raptors possible landing spot for Patrick Williams

The Toronto Raptors could be a possible suitor for Patrick Williams.

Williams is set to hit restricted free agency this summer. The Raptors have been listed as a potential destination for the forward, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
