Raptors Rumors: Toronto Could Command ‘Serious’ Offer For No. 31 Pick

The Toronto Raptors have two picks in the 2024 NBA Draft.

They have No. 19 via the Indiana Pacers and No. 31 via the Detroit Pistons.

As the Raptors look to zero in on their selections for the draft, there’s always a chance they could end up trading one of their picks.

According to The Atheltic’s Sam Vecenie, the Raptors could have a lot of interest for their No. 31 pick:

“There is also significant expectation league-wide that Toronto could command a serious overnight offer for its No. 31 pick from a team looking to jump to the front of Thursday’s line and select its top remaining player.”

This could create an interesting scenario for the Raptors if they’re open to moving the pick.

Since the Raptors have pick No. 31 that means they will have the first selection of night two. For the first time ever the NBA Draft will be a two-night event, with the first round taking place on June 26 and the second round set for June 27.

There are usually players who unexpectedly fall into the second round so that gives the Raptors an opportunity at a potential steal at that spot. Or it could give the Raptors some serious leverage in trade talks if a team really wants that pick.

Could Zach Edey still be on the board by the time the second round rolls along? Or could Bronny James still be available? He is arguably the most intriguing name in this year’s draft and his draft range is all over the place. If a team wants to take Bronny in hopes of luring his father LeBron, they could be eyeing No. 31.

Furthermore, there’s still a lot at play with the draft just three weeks away.

Raptors take Yves Missi in The Athletic’s latest mock draft

The Raptors recently worked out Purdue big man Zach Edey and a lot of buzz has been made about if Toronto will draft the Canadian.

However, Sam Vecenie doesn’t think so. He released his latest mock draft for The Athletic and he has the Raptors drafting Yves Missi out of Baylor.
