The Toronto Raptors hosted Zach Edey for a workout on June 4.

Seen as a potential second-round pick at the beginning of the year, Edey has been gaining a lot of buzz lately.

He has been projected to go as high as the late lottery in some mock drafts.

Edey was sporting a Raptors jersey at the OVO Athletic Centre on Tuesday going through a draft workout with Toronto:

Edey is one of the most intriguing prospects in this year’s draft.

Instead of entering the draft last year, Edey elected to go back to Purdue for one more season. It was a spectacular season for the Canadian.

The 7-foot-4 big man averaged 24.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting an efficient 62.5 percent from the field. Edey showed off his versatility and dominance on the court. He clinched his second straight Player of the Year award while leading the Boilermakers to the NCAA championship game.

It was not too long ago that Edey was cheering on the Raptors during their championship run. He talked about it via Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun:

“It’s cool. I mean, just when you grow up watching. It’s not that long ago, but I remember driving around downtown after they won the championship, like downtown was going crazy. Now I’m in here working out, like it is really cool.”

If the Raptors are high on Edey’s upside, they could definitely take a shot on him at No. 19 or if he falls to No. 31.

Edey talked about the possibility of getting drafted by the Raptors via Wolstat:

“Obviously getting drafted anywhere would be a blessing, but drafted by Toronto, it’s the team you grew up watching. It’s a team all my buddies are watching, my family watch. It’d be real cool.”

The 2024 NBA Draft will take place on June 26 and June 27 in Brooklyn, New York.

Kel’el Ware projected to Toronto in latest mock draft

Many mock drafts have been coming out. CBS Sports put out their latest one and they have the Raptors going with a different big man at No. 19.

Kel’el Ware out of Indiana is projected to go North of the Border.
