The 2024 NBA Draft is one month away.
The Toronto Raptors will have picks No. 19 and No. 31. This is a very unpredictable draft so a lot will change over the next few weeks.
For the Raptors, they are hoping to find a hidden gem with one of their two picks. No. 19 will give Toronto a good chance of finding a player who can compliment their core of Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley.
Kyle Boone of CBS Sports has the Raptors taking a player at No. 19 who could end up being a major steal of the draft. He has Toronto drafting 6’3″ point guard Isaiah Collier out of USC:
“Playmaking, size and a disruptive force is what Collier brings to the table for a Toronto team that could stand to add all the above to its backcourt. Scottie Barnes is the alpha here with the Raptors, but you can’t have enough offensive sparkplugs — and Collier can be a game-changer as a downhill creator.”
In his one college season, Collier put up 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds per contest on 33.8 percent shooting from three.
Collier also averaged 5.8 free throw attempts. After returning from a midseason right hand injury, he put up 31 foul shots over his next two outings.
Collier is an incredible talent with elite physical attributes. He has an ability to take over games and has star upside. Collier’s strengths include his ability to finish at the rim and push the ball in transition. He has great physicality and size for his position.
His shooting and decision-making are a little cause for concern, but he still has tremendous potential at 19-years-old. He would be a nice pick for Toronto.
The Ringer predicts Collier to Toronto
The Ringer also believes the guard is heading north of the border.
According to Kevin O’Connor’s latest mock draft, he predicts Collier landing with Toronto.
