The Toronto Raptors have two picks in the 2024 NBA Draft.
They have the No. 19 pick via the Indiana Pacers and No. 31 via the Detroit Pistons. This is a very interesting draft class this year because there are no set in stone picks.
Mock drafts keep changing as certain prospects are gaining more buzz as the days go on.
An intriguing young prospect who has been getting a lot of attention as of late is Tidjane Salaun. The 18-year-old is seen as a high-upside pick that would require patience.
According to Julian Catalfo of theScore, he has the Raptors taking the french forward at No. 19:
“With a bunch of win-now teams picking in succession, the Raptors end up with one of the best raw prospects in the field with Salaun. The super-long 6-foot-9 wing with terrific mobility screams upper-tier 3-and-D wing and has the size and defensive versatility that Toronto has long craved. As one of the few players still in action – playing in the French playoffs – Salaun has the chance to blow past this projection by the time the draft rolls around.”
Salaun had an impressive showing in Game 1 of the French League playoffs. He posted 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in a win over Paris. He finished by shooting 8-of-13 from the field, including 2-of-5 from three-point range.
Salaun is quickly rising up draft boards and is now seen by many as a lottery pick. If he falls to No. 19 it would be a no brainer for the Raptors to take him. The Raptors are in need of raw talent and Salaun has a chance to be a special player in the future.
Cholet Basket is still competing in the playoffs, so Salaun likely won’t arrive in the United States until later this month. Salaun will be able to meet with teams and have workouts once his season is over.
CBS Sports has Raptors taking Salaun as well
Gary Parrish of CBS Sports put out his latest mock draft and he believes the Raptors will take Salaun if he’s still on the board at No. 19.
