The Toronto Raptors have two picks in this upcoming 2024 NBA Draft as a result of the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery.

Despite being unable to secure a top-six pick, the opportunity remains to add some valuable pieces around the young more.

With the draft taking place on June 26 and 27, Toronto still has plenty of time to do scouting on prospects. So, it creates endless possibilities of who the Raptors will take with their first pick at No. 19.

According to FanNation and their Draft Digest Staff, they predict the Raptors will take Kyshawn George of Miami at No. 19.

Firstly, George is a 6’8″ guard, who is a sharpshooter. As Toronto needs more outside shooting, he would certainly help space the floor.

The 20-year-old is averaged 7.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 42.9 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from deep with the Hurricanes.

Next, is No. 31 via the Detroit Pistons. Melvin Ajinca is predicted to be taken by the Raptors with the first pick of the second-round.

Differing from George, Ajinca is an overseas prospect. He is a 19-year-old French player for Saint-Quentin Basketball of the LNB.

During his 2023-24 season, Ajinca averaged 9.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists on 37.5 percent shooting from the field and 30.9 percent from deep.

While it is not the prettiest stat line, there is certainly some growth necessary but he is only 19-years-old. Being able to develop behind Barnes as a wing could be beneficial should he be selected by Toronto.

All in all, this a situation that the Raptors are familiar with. Notably, Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby were selected in the 20’s.

So, there could be some valuable role players in this year’s draft class. While it may not be immediate, developing them into high-level players will be something to monitor.

Yahoo Sports predicts Toronto taking Tyler Smith at No. 19

There is a lot of diversity as of late when it comes to mock drafts with the combine going on. Stocks are rising and falling, as Yahoo Sports predicts Tyler Smith of the G-League Ignite at No. 19 for Toronto.
