The Toronto Raptors traded O.G. Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett and the 31st pick in the 2024 NBA Draft via the Detroit Pistons.
The Raptors made a blockbuster trade which saw them acquire two young starters who are looking like core pieces next to Scottie Barnes.
Barrett and Quickley have flourished with the Raptors since arriving in Toronto to begin the new year.
Quickley in particular has showcased just how good he can be in a starter’s role.
In 38 games with Toronto, he averaged 18.6 points, 6.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds on 39.5 percent shooting from deep.
Quickley is a restricted free agent this summer meaning Toronto can match any offer sheet he signs with another team.
The 24-year-old was asked about his upcoming free agency on FanDuel’s Run It Back and he made it clear that he wants to stay in Toronto:
“Obviously like I said earlier business is always business, but I love Toronto. I love being in Toronto since the day I got there. I say it all the time, they have done nothing but show me love.”

Teams who have cap space and need a young dynamic point guard could make a serious run at Quickley. However, considering how much the Raptors gave up for Quickley, it’s safe to assume that they’ll match whatever offer comes his way.
Scottie Barnes spotted in Cancun
Since the Raptors are in their offseason, this is an opportunity for players to relax and rest up before the grind starts again.
Barnes who has been recovering from a hand surgery seems to be in good spirits. He was recently spotted in Cancun singing at a karaoke bar.
