The Toronto Raptors lost more than just the game on March 1.

The Raptors lost Scottie Barnes in the second quarter who exited the game with a left-hand injury.

Barnes did not return. It was later reported by Shams Charania that Barnes has sustained a fracture to the third metacarpal bone of his left hand and is out indefinitely.

Barnes had 10 points and six rebounds in 16 minutes, ending a career-best streak of five consecutive double-doubles.

Kelly Olynyk started the third quarter in Barnes’ place.

Stephen Curry scored 25 points, Jonathan Kuminga had 24 as the Golden State Warriors won their eighth straight game on the road beating Toronto 120-105.

Moses Moody scored 17 points, Klay Thompson added 14 and Draymond Green grabbed 13 rebounds for the Warriors. The Dubs are catching fire, winning three in a row and 13 of 15.

This was Curry’s first game in Toronto since Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals. The two-time NBA MVP put on a show. He shot it 9 for 22, including 7 of 15 from three-point range. He also had six rebounds and six assists.

RJ Barrett led the Raptors with 23 points. Immanuel Quickley shot 4 for 16 and finished with 12 points. He matched his season high with 11 assists. Jakob Poeltl tied his season best with 14 rebounds.

Golden State trailed 64-61 at halftime but then turned the game around outscoring Toronto 32-19 in the third. The Raptors were really missing Barnes presence out there. Toronto missed six of their first seven attempts and shot 5 for 19. Curry had nine points in the third as the Warriors never looked back.

The news of Barnes’ injury is a big blow to the Raptors play-in chances. They might elect to shut him down for the year and play it safe.

The Raptors will be back in action on March 3 when they host the Charlotte Hornets. The Raptors are currently on a four-game homestand.
