Vince Carter is a legend who had a long 22-year career in the NBA.

He made a name for himself with the Toronto Raptors and wants to be remembered for his time with the franchise.

Carter appeared as a guest on Run It Back, and he discussed leading the 2024 Naismith Hall of Fame finalists as a first-time ballot nominee.

When Carter was asked “which jersey are you rocking, Hall of Fame, if you had to choose one?” he said the Raptors:

“Toronto, Toronto, Toronto. It has to be, it’s where it all started. Yes, I had great years in [New Jersey], but it started there.”

Carter was a big reason why the game of basketball became so popular for in Canada. He rose to superstardom and became one of the best players in the league while in Toronto.

Despite Carter’s Raptors tenure not ending gracefully, Raptors fans hold nothing against him.

Carter was recently given a warm welcome by the fans at Scotiabank Arena back in January while he was working the game for a TNT broadcast:

Carter spent 7 years with the Raptors and was crowned the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year. He won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2000 which really put him on the map. He also made it to the All-Star Game 5 times with Toronto.

Carter helped the Raptors clinch their first-ever playoff berth in 2000. He then led them to a 47-win season in 2001, as Toronto won its first-ever playoff series.

Vince Carter’s career

Carter was traded to the New Jersey Nets on Dec. 2004. He then had stints with the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, and Atlanta Hawks.

The Florida native finished his career third in all-time games played (1,541) and No. 20 on the league’s all-time points scored list (25,728).

He will always be remembered as a Raptors all-time great.
